This is a strange little show. In a good way. It makes me laugh, and dammit, when I come home from working my ass off for "the man," thats all I want to do.
The show is about Malcolm, a smart little kid, who likes talking to the folks at home. The show also features his less-than-normal family, as well as some of the weirdos at his school. His mom is a less than refined woman, a little on the harsh side. His dad is just plain stupid at times (funny though). His little brother looks like an elf, and the second oldest brother isn't too bright either. Malcolm's oldest brother is in military school, mainly because he has trouble following directions, and constantly clashes with Mom. Some of the stuff is funny as hell. :)
The first episode was your typical pilot episode. It introduced all of the characters, made you laugh, and set up the plot for future episodes. At the end of the first episode, Malcolm is picked on by a bully at school. In a confrontation, he picks up some pudding and throws it at the kid. The bully swings to hit him, but Malcolm ducks, and the bully just barely manages to keep from hitting Malcolm's wheelchair-bound friend. The bully lightly taps him on the jaw, and the kid throws himself to the ground. Instantly, everyone hates the bully for beating up the wheelchair kid. I like the way that the scene was done. :)
