After I got wheeled back to my room, the Doctor helped me into my bed. The soft surface of the bed felt like heaven against my back; after sitting in the stiff wheelchair, anything would, though. He left me so I could sleep, and I sure as hell wasn't going to argue with him.
I lay my head against the cold, soft pillow. It surrounded my head on both sides. It was so peaceful, it took me no time at all to go to sleep. I closed my eyes, and it felt as though I was transported somewhere else.
I opened my eyes. I wasn't sure of where I was. I was standing in a curcular room, and there were about half a dozen more people there, all doing something different. I don't know why, but I felt like I was in control of them all. Then, without warning, red lights began to flash, and a young man in front of me turned around at moved his mouth, only I didn't hear anything. As I looked at the giant viewscreen, I saw a strange looking ship, with red wings, and a long neck, coming towards us. Then I saw four little ships, like the one I saw earlier, move away from me, toward the... Cruiser? 'How did I know that?' I saw that Cruiser launch some sort of weapon, glowing yellow, and it hit below me on the screen. I felt the metal plates beneth me shake some.
Then, I felt a much hevier tremble, and saw sparks fly from the wall beside me. When I looked up, I saw one of the blue ships explode after being pelted with hundreds of tiny blue particles. Then, I saw four triangular ships coming from the enemy ship in front of me, coming closer and closer...
I sat up. I could feel millions of tiny beads of sweat all over my body. Immediatly after that I felt the chilly air around me, and it quickly filled my lungs, since I was breathing so hard.
I tried to lay back down, but my pillow was drenched in sweat. I crawled out of my bed and into the wheelchair next to it. I wheeled myself over to theshelves on the other side of the room. Damn, it was locked. I locked the wheelchair down, so it wouldn't moce, and gave it a hard jerk. The lock broke surprisingly easy. I got the pillow, and wheeled my self to the bed.
After I replaced the pillow and had climbed back into bed, I lag my head back down. 'I hope I don't have another nightmare,' I remember thinking to my self.
Just as I was beginning to fall back asleep, I felt something strange. It felt like my hand was moving, but from the inside. I flipped on the light, and looked at my left hand. I was horrified by what I saw. My hand, up to my wrist, was completely red, except for black streaks all over it. As if that wasn't creepy enough, the streaks seemed to be moving, almost like black oils on water. Then, as quickly as it had started, it just quit. The black and red turned into my normal skin tone. My hand just looked like a hand.
After staring in disbelief for a few seconds, I flipped the lights off, and lay back again. But no matter what, I lay there, wide awake, wondering what that was. That was the first time I ever really questioned what was happening to me. God knows, that wasn't the last.
